Diversion
Ends & Detours performed at Something To Believe In Festival
Diversion Ends performed two
incredible 45 minute sets at the
Something To Believe In Festival over the August
Bank Holiday weekend, on Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th. Also appearing
were Detours, 80s chart star
Howard Jones, Dan Reed,
Room Thirteen, Funky Mustard, Harp
and a Monkey and George Borowski, along with
approximately 30 other acts. The
festival, was held at
several venues in the Manchester
area, including the BBC, raising
over £7,000 funding the Winnie
Mabaso Foundation, which supports
the orphans of South Africa, many suffering with
HIV/AIDS. Thank you to all who supported and
sponsored the band. Below is a photo of Diversion
Ends' lead singer Sam Johnson with Eric 'Sparky'
Parker of the awesome rock band Funky Mustard, who
came all the way from Texas to perform. The photo is
courtesy of Sparky, so thank you to him for allowing
us to include it. Sparky is certainly one hell of a
guitarist!

Anniversary Reunion Theatre Concert
- a sellout success!
What a glorious night! Diversion Ends performed a 25th
Anniversary Reunion Concert at Playhouse2 Theatre,
Shaw on Saturday 5th February 2011. Lead singer Sam
Johnson was reunited with Bryn Gater, electric
guitar, Carl Robinson, bass guitar, and Andy Marston,
drums. The band were joined by their new keyboard player Alex Flanagan for their first, full
electric public concert in twenty years! Also,
DETOURS performed an acoustic selection of
their own material to start the evening, so Sam actually got to be his own support act! What a
memorable, magical and emotional evening this turned out to
be. The set was awesome, the audience were buzzing.
There was a great atmosphere in the theatre.
Feedback has been so positive with everyone hungry
for further concerts. Several photos are now
available on our Photos page and our Facebook site,
and live videos of 'My Everything' and 'Cutting Down
Trees' are now in our new Video section. More to
follow. Enjoy!
