New digital single release in tribute to Buddy
Holly!
To mark the
50th Anniversary of the tragic death of the
legendary Buddy Holly on 3rd February this
year, Detours have released their first
ever cover version. Learning The Game, which
has featured regularly in their live shows
ever since their first theatre concert back
in 2003. This acoustic studio recording was released as a
digital download single exclusively on iTunes on Tuesday 3rd February,
and will also be released on Tunetribe at a
later date. The
promo video is on
Detours' YouTube
channel, and has received some very
positive feedback by e mail from Buddy Holly
fans in America. As usual, the video has
been edited using archive live video footage
from Detours concert performances over the
years.

Detours to take
a trip down Memory Lane with Treasury boxset!-
New boxset set planned for
2009 release
-
Detours are currently working on
a collection of previously
unreleased recordings entitled
'Memory Lane The Boxset Treasury' which
will contain approximately 100
tracks, consisting of live
concert and soundcheck
performances, demos, home
recordings, alternate mixes, and
new songs.
- The remarkably
ambitious project has no current release date,
but it is hoped that it may be completed for an
Autumn 2009 release, digitally through iTunes, and
as a limited edition CD boxset through their
Detours Music Store website. The album cover has
already been confirmed and is shown below.

- An extensive DVD project is
also underway, including acoustic live
performances and promo videos.

Detours Music on YouTube
Detours Music's YouTube channel now includes
Detours promo videos for the songs 'Learning
The Game', 'Someday', 'One More Time', 'Memory
Lane', and 'Snowballed', all of which were compiled from audience
video recordings of several of their
concerts during the past few years, with home and studio
video and cinefilm footage. The other video
is a live performance of 'Stay With Me
tonight', filmed at Playhouse2 Theatre, Shaw
on Saturday 18th November 2006. To add to
these is a video for one of Ez Jon Erikson's solo recordings 'Summers Of My
Life'. The videos can be seen
on our

channel, and on our

profiles.

NEWSFLASH:
Sam Johnson
recovering at home from further
knee
surgery, live performances put
on hold!
Detours have put all of their
live performance plans on hold
until further notice due to Sam
Johnson's continuing health
problems following his
Road Traffic Accident in January
2007 when he was hit by a van.
He is recovering slowly at home,
but will require three further
operations during 2009 & 2010.

released on Tuesday October 2nd
2007,
and is available from
