Following
their triumphant sell-out concert at
Playhouse2 Theatre, Shaw on Saturday 26th
January, Detours and Kristyna Myles have
added a further Playhouse2 theatre concert for later
this year. Detours are
to perform a 45 minute long acoustic set in
support of Kristyna Myles and The Truetones
at Playhouse2 Theatre on Saturday 4th
October, show commencing at 8pm (doors 7pm). Then on Saturday 6th December, Detours
will headline Detours Music's Christmas Acoustic Concert
at The Players' Theatre, Delph, Saddleworth,
show commencing at 7.30pm (doors 6.30pm).
They will be joined by their special guest
Hannah Short, who is set to support KT
Tunstall in June.
Playhouse2 tickets are priced at £10, and
Players' Theatre tickets at £8 and are now
on sale online at
Detours
Music Store.
Online purchases will be rewarded by a free
download. For Playhouse2 online ticket
purchases, customers will receive a free download of the song
'Sense Of Purpose' (album version) by
Detours featuring Kristyna Myles. This is
the title track to Detours' new album, which
Kristyna recorded with them in aid of St
Mary's Church Greenfield Restoration Fund.
Customers purchasing The Players' Theatre
tickets will receive a free download of the
song 'Snowballed' by Detours. The free downloads will be sent as

Sense Of Purpose!-
New studio album available now
Detours new album 'Sense Of Purpose' was
released October 23rd. The ten song album is available to buy online from
Detours Music Store,
priced £6.00 (including postage and packing), and as a digital download from
iTunes,
TuneTribe.com,
and
Telegraph.co.uk, priced £7.90 (79p per
track). The album has a great mixture of rock, pop, country, folk, soul,
gospel and bluegrass influences, and as always Detours' songs are highly
melodic, and their lyrics very thoughtful, touching on life's many
experiences, moods, feelings, topics and situations. The album versions of
'Sense Of Purpose' with Kristyna Myles, and 'Come Back' with Morgan are

Sense Of Purpose, the title track
written by Ez Jon Erikson, is influenced by
Chief Sealth's (Seattle) reply to a
Government offer to purchase the remaining
Salish lands. In 1854, the United States
Government offered to buy two million acres
of Indian land in the Northwest. Chief
Sealth's reply to president Franklin Pierce
in December of that year has been described
as the most beautiful and prophetic
statement on the environment ever made. The
album version is the full version lasting 6
minutes and 14 seconds, which includes an
extra verse, and royalties in respect of
this track will go to St Mary's Church
Greenfield Restoration Fund. A radio edit
mix of the song, with a running time of 4
minutes 32 seconds, is included on 'The
Bells Of St Mary EP', as is a radio edit of
Come Back with Morgan, the full
version of which is also included on the new
album.

Sam Johnson
recovering at home
-
Detours member Sam Johnson is
presently recovering at home
following a seven hour major
operation on his leg. The
ligaments have been rebuilt
further to his life threatening
road traffic accident in January
2007.

Sam wowed the Playhouse2 Theatre
audience recently by performing
on crutches just four days after
returning home from hospital.
True to form he put in a stellar
performance, with his voice and
trumpet playing sounding very
much on form. His fans, friends
and family wish him a speedy
recovery!

being 'Snowballed' which was compiled from
audience video recordings of their Players
Theatre concert on Saturday 3rd December
2005, and their Playhouse2 Theatre
performance on Saturday 18th November 2006,

footage. The highly entertaining video can

NEWSFLASH:
No Evil to be
remixed and remastered!
Detours second album 'No Evil'
has received a makeover for
digital release on iTunes and
Tunetribe. The album has been
remixed and remastered and will
be officially released during
October. "Although we have
always loved
the album and are very proud of
it" Ez comments "we just felt
that we originally slightly rushed elements
of it to meet a deadline, so it
made sense to us to finish it
off for its official digital
release."
- The remastered
version of the album includes several subtle
changes and one or two major changes. 'Someday'
(for which a radio edit single was released in
May) received the most attention, and fans will
also notice standout amendments in 'Memory
Lane', 'Took Words', 'Half The World', and 'It's
Not Right'. The track running order has also been amended. The album will
be released as a digital
download on iTunes and Tunetribe during
October, exact date to be confirmed, and the
CD format will also be available
online at
Detours Music Store.
The moment it is released the original
version will no longer be available.
